Baby girl is sleeping a little extra today…so I decided to finally update yall with our one month favorites! Just click on the links below to purchase or read more. These are just a few of our favorite things we’ve been using since we came home from the hospital. I could do a whole list of NOT favorites too, but I’ll let you judge for yourself! 🙂
1. Solly Baby Wrap :: this thing has been a life saver on days that she won’t let me lay her down. We use it while I get ready most of the time and it puts her right to sleep! Don’t let the way you wrap trick you 😉 Have a friend wrap you first and then you’ll be a pro! (Comes with directions and google Moby wrap for more ways to wrap-YouTube even has videos!) I got this cute striped one, but there are other cute options HERE.
2. Soothies Pacifiers :: These things are so darn ugly but it’s the only pacifier she will take. Thank goodness I found some in pink and purple so we don’t have to have the green one! These are the pacifiers they give at the hospital, so stock up!
3. Fisher Price Rock n Play Sleeper :: This contraption has been a life saver. We originally put her in the cradle in our room but she wasn’t sleeping well. Finally we figured out she needed to sleep at in incline for her reflux…we tried it and voila! She slept all night. That was day 12 and she’s been sleeping 5-7 hours at night since (knock on wood it keeps happening!)
4. Corona Ointment :: When we were going through all of the stomach allergy drama, she was having like 14 diapers a day. You can only imagine the diaper rash her little hiney received as a gift for that. Poor thing. We tried literally everything until someone mentioned Corona Cream…I sent my dad and husband out for some at the farm supply store, and it wasn’t 2 hours later we were seeing a much better hiney! Hasn’t had a diaper rash since. This stuff is MAGIC.
5. Boppy Newborn Lounger :: This was recommended by a friend and I’m so glad I got it! We lay her in it on the couch so we can watch her sleep. It’s also at an incline so perfect for nap time.
6. Kickee Pants Swaddle Blankets :: OMG, I can’t say enough good things about these blankets. They are SO soft and SO stretchy that they make the best little baby burritos! We got this pack of three as a gift, but I frequent their website often and they put them on sale. Since, we’ve gotten 2 more. She uses one every night – her daddy is the Swaddle King!

1. Medela Symphony :: I recently invested in renting one of these bad boys. It’s hospital grade and goes so so much faster. I do have a Medela Pump in Style, and use it for the car and on the go. It’s nice to have both if you have to do a lot of pumping like I have. Don’t freak out at the price when you click on the link. Definitely rent one. Ask your hospital where you can rent from and how much it will be per month.
2. Camelback Water Bottle :: I’ve got 3 of these now. I fill them all up with water and put them in the fridge. Once I finish one, I refill it and put it back in the fridge and get another one. This ensures that I drink enough water to hydrate a whole football team. You definitely need to drink a ton of water while nursing (and pregnant). These are easy to carry around with you wherever you go!
3. Coconut Oil :: Did you know you can put this on your nipples before pumping in place of lanolin? It works wonders and smells good too! I’ve also used this in the place of butter and oil for cooking because of LC’s food intolerances. Also, eat a tablespoon of this a day to make your milk more “fatty and good” for baby. You can pick this up at any health food store or most grocery stores.
4. Nursing Sleep Bras :: I sleep in one of these every night. Easy to remove to nurse or pump. Holds your girls in place so they don’t hurt. Win-Win.
5. Hands Free Pumping Bra :: LIFESAVER. I’ve gone back and purchased 3 more because you can’t have enough of these contraptions. Yes, you feel a little silly at first, but SO worth it. Take it to the hospital with you, too. I didn’t and wish I would have.
