I was so beyond thrilled to be included in my first ever press trip, let alone for a brand that I truly support 100%! When was invited to go on this press trip with Britax to North Carolina, I really didn’t know what to expect, but I was blown away and love them even more so now after seeing the heart of the brand.
Britax is the #1 brand in safety technology for carseat and stroller brands. The best part is: they’re 100% based in the United States and everything is manufactured in their warehouse in Fort Mill, SC. I even got to build carseats in the assembly line! It was an incredible experience that I will remember forever (and my kids will be tired of me telling to them). I finally learned the proper way to pronounce the brand, too! Here in Texas, we’ve been saying “br-eye-tax” but it’s actually pronounced “br-i-tax” (with a short i) which stems from their British roots. Who knew! Ha!
Our trip started on Tuesday when I flew out to Charlotte, North Carolina! That airport is HUGE, but I finally arrived after several hours and got settled into my new home for the next few days. We stayed at The Duke Mansion which is absolutely gorgeous. The historic mansion was built in 1915 and houses 20 rooms on 4.5 acres. The grounds are stunning and the hot breakfast served each morning was to-die-for. I definitely recommend staying here if you’re ever in the Charlotte area!
Our trip was kicked off with dinner and drinks with some of the Britax team. It was so fun to see Kate, who I have always emailed with about collaborations for Britax, in person and meet so many amazing people from their team! The press trip included several other women from publications and websites, so it was nice to meet them too! We had the best time getting to know one another. We had dinner at Fahrenheit for our first night. The steak and sides were amazing as well as their hand crafted cocktails and wine list. It was a great night!
Wednesday, we were up bright and early to head over to Fort Mill for the tour of the Britax facilities! This was such an incredible experience as my little ones ride in Britax carseats. It was so cool to see first-hand how they are made, especially by hand, and how they are checked and double-checked to meet safety requirements. We got to put together carseats (one that my oldest daughter will actually transition to soon) and meet all of the amazing people working for Britax. I think I was most blown away by the family testimonials which were hung throughout the headquarters to remind them why it is they do what they’re doing. It’s for the families.
I fell in love with this brand and the heart of their company. Every single person that we met had a warm welcome and I felt assured that my kids were safe because of using these carseats from a company that cares so deeply about their customers!
We were able to watch a crash test, which was super emotional for this mama! I will never let my kids ride without the tether installed in their carseats now. I learned more about carseat safety and where to stay up to date on the latest laws. You can find all of the information here. I know my kids are safest in Britax carseats!
From learning about where the company originated to how they design the next carseat covers…the tour of Britax HQ was a great experience! I left feeling blessed to have been able to see the process and heart of the company!
Wednesday night was full of fun and brew…we headed to Olde Mecklenburg Brewery for German food and brew! I loved the patio and live music!
Thursday was my last day in North Carolina, so I enjoyed the beautiful Duke Mansion for a few hours before heading out! I enjoyed meeting all of the wonderful Britax staff, the ladies on the trip with me and experiencing my first press trip! It was one for the books!
If you’re interested in learning more about Britax, you can visit their website HERE and purchase a carseat HERE. I try to share when they are having sales from different retailers, so follow along on my FB and Instagram for details when those are released!
Thank you to Britax for bringing me along on this trip and for everyone who made the trip possible! I feel so blessed to have been included and it was an experience I will remember forever!
