I’ve been sharing little sneak peeks of the nursery that I’m doing for little baby Nichols 2.0 and I wanted to share a few of the things that I’ve done myself and tell how to do them!
Soooo…first one. Here it goes!
I wanted to put some baskets for storage in this space for diapers, wipes, etc but I couldn’t find any the right size that looked cute! I ended up finding some the right size, but they were clear and ugly storage boxes for seriously $6.99 each. I decided to cover them and make them cute and useful at the same time!
You will need:
- the boxes you want to cover
- spray adhesive
- burlap (I got 2 yards and had some left over)
- hot glue gun & glue
- burlap garland
- lace ribbon
- flowers for embellishing
- scissors
- craft paper or neutral wrapping paper
Here’s how:
First, you’re going to want to wrap your boxes so it doesn’t show through the burlap. If you’re covering them in fabric, you won’t need to do this step unless whatever is on the box shows through the fabric.
I measured out the box to wrap, and sprayed adhesive on the box itself one side at a time.
Until the box is wrapped. Just like a present!
Now, do the exact same thing with your fabric. The spray adhesive will hold it on the box perfectly.
So now that the boxes are wrapped, you are ready to decorate them!
I lined the edges with the burlap garland. You could use anything you wanted to do this.
And I used hot glue to make it stick all the way around.
So, now the edges are wrapped with garland.
I added the lace/burlap ribbon to give it a little more 🙂
And added the flowers for embellishing! Simple as that!
Now, I have some cute baskets as drawers and only spent about $35 on the whole project! Woo hoo!!
