It’s back to school time for teachers and kiddos! Since I taught for 4 years, I’m often asked my favorite outfits for the classroom! I took a little trip to Loft recently and raided their sale to find these pieces to throw together for easy, but put-together teaching outfits! These would also work for any workplace, just swap out the jeans for a pair of black slacks!

I always loved to get pieces that I could style several different ways while teaching. I immediately was drawn to this knit blazer because it’s so functional, timeless and suuuuuuper soft. I love that it can be worn several different ways, too! It’s not too heavy so it is easy to move in but gives you a layer for when it’s cooler indoors. If you aren’t a blazer person, you’ll still love this one because it feels more like a cardigan than a blazer!
Soft and comfortable swing dresses are a MUST for your closet if you are a teacher. They’re so easy to wear now with flats or booties and even later into fall and winter with leggings. I love this black one because it’s sure to be a closet staple. It is BEYOND soft and so cozy. This dress is easily worn if you’re pregnant as well! There is plenty of room to grow for baby! 🙂
Both of these outfits can be worn with booties or flats. Also, think about later into fall and winter pairing them with tall boots or over the knee boots. These are items you’ll get TONS of use out of for the entire school year!
On Fridays at both schools I taught at, we were able to wear jeans. I love these Wit and Wisdom Absolution Skinny Jeans because they have no distressing and are incredibly comfortable. I raved about them during the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale and will continue to share because they’re amazing! They fit in all of the right places and I can even wear them as maternity jeans with the elastic waist band.
Now that it’s time to head back to your classrooms, what have you added to your teacher wardrobe? Do you go for basic closet staples or get trendy pieces for each year? I know that these are definitely pieces that I could wear from year to year! I would definitely feel comfortable teaching and also having these in my closet for other events, too!
