We all want long, healthy and beautiful hair, right? I know I do! I have worked hard to get my hair as long as it is while still keeping it healthy, so I want to share my tips and secrets on how I keep it healthy while being long! Healthy hair is the first priority when trying to grow it out, so let’s spill the secrets and all get our best hair EVER!
Are you ready to know my secrets?
It’s simple!
- Find a good Sulfate-Free Shampoo/Conditioner like Suave Coconut Oil Infusion Damage Repair Shampoo and Conditioner. Many of Suave’s collections are salon proven to “work as well as” luxury brands without paying the price of them. I also love the Coconut Oil Infusion Damage Repair Oil Treatment that instantly smooths split-ends, tames flyaways, and creates a healthy shine. This line visibly repairs two years of damage with lightweight moisture! I found mine at my local Walmart!
- Now that you’ve got a good wash regimen; plan to wash as little as possible! I can go 7-10 days without washing my hair. I posted HERE some tips on how to prolong washing, hairstyles to try and secrets to keeping your hair healthier by not washing it everyday.
- Get a trim every 4-6 weeks, but don’t color unless you HAVE to. I try to keep my coloring at minimum because it’s what does the most damage. I usually get my hair colored at the salon every 4-6 months and always use quality products. It might cost a little more to go to a good stylist, but it’s important in keeping your hair healthy. Ask for Olaplaex as it will help keep your hair stronger through bleach and color.
- Keep the heat at minimum. I try to only use heat on my hair on the days I absolutely MUST. I use a wand, curling iron and occasionally a straightener, and also try to only blow dry my hair once a week or less. I usually just let it air dry, which is much easier on your hair than the heat. If you do use hot tools everyday, try to keep the heat turned down so it doesn’t fry each time!
- Be healthy! Taking your vitamins and drinking water will actually help your hair grow! I know I can tell a difference in my skin and hair when I haven’t been eating and drinking as healthy as normal! What you put into your body matters and shows through your appearance!
What tips do you have for healthy hair? Are you a person who likes to try out new hairstyles often trying colors and cuts? Or do you play it safe and keep your hair the same all of the time? I am usually the latter, and if I try something new, it’s a subtle change each time!
Postpartum hair has been healthier this time than the last because I followed these tips! I lost so much hair after my first baby that I researched and asked my stylist often how to keep my hair from falling out! Now does anyone have a tip for those tiny little baby patches of hair that grow in random places? Ha! I definitely have those!
I would love to hear your tips and secrets for your hair! I want to try any and every thing to keep my hair looking great! Even my girls love Suave Coconut Oil Infusion!
