It doesn’t matter if you are a working mom or a stay-at-home mom, whether you are a mom of one or five kids ranging in ages, whether you are constantly on-the-go or have some time for your DVR come bedtime. Moms are busy. Moms are tired. Moms need the best bang for their buck when it comes to their life. So today, I want to share a few easy tips for being an organized, healthy and less-stressed mom!
Like I said, we need the best bang for our buck. We need to combine as many things into one as we can. We need to compartmentalize our lives, organize the details, get down to the nitty-gritty facts of the day. It’s just part of our Mom DNA. I want to share with you a few things that help me out each day, and as small as they are, I know that my life would change without them!
- Be Healthy – Yes, easier said than done. Be healthy by taking your vitamins, eating your veggies and drinking lots of water. I love these Premama® Digestive Aid chews. Premama is the first nationwide line of natural powdered drink mixes specifically formulated to support the nutritional needs of expecting and new moms. While I am not expecting (thank you Jesus) I am still nursing so I find it important to provide as many nutrients for Lennie as I can. Carrying the Premama chews is easy, especially when we’re on the move going to gymnastics and dance. They taste like a caramel chew, so you really can’t beat that either!Premama Digestive Aid has many incredible options including Premama Fertility reproductive powdered drink supplement, Premama Essentials and Premama Essentials + DHA prenatal vitamin drink mixes, and Premama Lactation support powdered drink supplement. If I continue nursing Lennyn, I’d love to try the lactation support drink. We’ve made it to 14 months so far, but she’s gotten so busy, she might not be nursing for that much longer!
Find a good supplement for you and your body. Eat your vegetables. Try to stick with whole foods and cut back on processed foods. Drinking 100 ounces of water a day is a great way to help you feel better instantly. I know when I haven’t had enough water, I start to feel sluggish and light-headed. It’s amazing what a little H20 can do for you. You can find these vitamins at Amazon.com, but are also available at Meijer, LuckyVitamin.com, and select GNC stores throughout the country. Visit drinkpremama.com/find for a location near you.
- Organize – I’m a former Kindergarten teacher, so I don’t know if this is a teacher thing or a mom thing…but I have to have everything organized. I need to have baskets and bins. I have to make a place for everything. I recently got a purse that I’ve had my eye on for yearrrrs, and I knew that I could make it into a diaper bag pretty easily. Then I came across a organizer called Tote Savvy, and my life was changed. I could organize literally everything with this little insert, and you can put it into any purse. How cool, huh?My organization doesn’t stop here. Everything from calendars to apps, keeping things in their place gives me a sense of control. Control that I don’t always have as a mom because you know we have to let a lot of that go with motherhood. I enjoy organizing and it makes me feel less-stressed.
- De-Stress – Okay, this is a hard one for moms to swallow. You need to take time for yourself. You need alone time to be you. Run yourself a bath, schedule a manicure or pedicure into your week, get a massage, go shopping, plant some flowers, read a magazine…do something for YOU. Take the stress out of your day by unplugging for at least 15 minutes a day, and I promise you will find yourself being a much nicer person. I know when I miss my time, everyone notices. I’m like Mama Bear.
Shopping the Nordstrom Sale has been one of the ways I’ve de-stressed lately. I found this adorable jumpsuit after my mom wore it one day for errands, and I thought I needed it too! And it’s on sale…YAY! I’ll link all of my outfit details below..
