Weekend Update & some OOTDs

Before starting the 5K

Well, we did it! Tracy, one of my friends that I teach Kindergarten with, and I worked hard to reach our goal-running in a 5K! This was Tracy’s first 5K to do, and my first one for 2012, so we were super proud to reach our goal and are ready for some more races. Tracy did AWESOME in her first 5K and I’m so proud of her for reaching her own personal goal! Way to go, Trace!

We ran the CASA 5K at McKenzie Park. CASA is such a great organization to support. Check it out if you get some time and want to support to a great cause.

Tracy’s husband, Brett, is a professional photographer and he took pictures of us running & better shots than my little iPhone pics! I will have to post those when I get them. I can’t wait to see the expressions on our face (especially since the last 0.5 miles was UPHILL, yes, I died. Twice.)

I’m proud of us. Next up? Maybe a little race in between now and the Denver Color Run 5k (which I’m SUPER stoked about.)

After the run & pictures & visiting, I headed over to see my most gorgeous best friend, Kristin, and her precious little boy, Brogan. I am SO lucky to be having one of my very best friend living so close to me. She was my college roommate & very best friend, and I was so sad when she moved away to Lubbock and then got married and moved to Hobbs. We prayed for a VERY long time for God to move us back closer to each other, and guess what?! Here I am, 25 miles from Hobbs where she lived for a long time, and now she lives in Lubbock which is 80 miles. It’s much closer than 200 miles before! God knows good friends need to be close!

Anyway, we went to eat at Caprock Cafe for some greasy goodness & then did a little shopping and Starbuck’s. Duh.

After my visit with Kris, I headed over to Fancy Nails to get a mani/pedi with my good & sweetest friend, Brittney. She is also going to be closer in distance to me, and I can’t wait! She has been a great friend and I’m extra happy for her lately. Blessings come to those who bless others, and her friendship has definitely been a blessing to me!

I ran my first 5k this weekend too! I'm sure your friend felt so accomplished after it was over! Oh, and I'm loving that nail polish too..so pretty!!
