When I had my babies, I knew that’s when all of the Christmas traditions would start. Something that my mom and I always did was buy for a Salvation Army Christmas Angel, so I started that tradition with Laikyn last year. We start by picking an angel, shopping for that angel and then when we go drop off the clothes and toys for that special boy or girl, we make a visit to the mall Santa for pictures and to tell Santa what we want along with what our Angel would like. Laikyn loved it last year, and I can’t wait to do it again with her this year. We’ve picked our angel and plan to shop and see Santa this week!
I’m trying to add a tradition each year with the girls so that we will have plenty of fun while giving back each Christmas holiday. This year, we are going to join in the #spreadcheer campaign. Spreading the Christmas cheer loud for all to hear…here we go!
Christmas time in PJs with hot cocoa (hot coffee for mommy) and hot fires is the way to go! We spend most of our days at home in Christmas pajamas, so cute ones are a must! Today, we’re baking for #spreadcheer in our pjs! LC loves these reindeer jams equally as much as she loves reindeer peanut butter cookies, so that’s what we’re baking!
In the kitchen with my little reindeer, lets get started!
I love to use Betty Crocker Peanut Butter Cookie mix from HEB. I purchased the Betty Crocker, Peanut Butter Cookie Mix, 1lb, 1.5oz pouch. Follow the baking directions from Betty Crocker, and the reindeer making comes at the end.
We talked about who we were going to spread the cheer to, and started prepping for the reindeer cookies by getting pretzels, m&ms and chocolate chips. This was the easiest and quickest way to get some super cute homemade cookies, without so many ingredients and so much time!
Is there anything better than licking the bowl and beater?? It’s my favorite, and I think it’s her favorite too!
Roll the cookies & bake them at 375 degrees for 8-10 minutes.
Once the cookies were baking, I kept LC busy with these coloring pages while I printed out these free printable #spreadcheer tags!
When the cookies come out of the oven, you will want to assemble your reindeer to look like this while they are cooling. Do this FAST because once they cool, they won’t allow anything to ‘set’ inside the cookie. I didn’t get some of mine fast enough! Set aside on a cooling rack, and bake the rest if you desire.
Once they are cool (make sure they cool long enough not to stick together), place them on your platter, I used one that I made in my MOPS group but you can use anything!
Attach this label, and head out to spread the cheer to your friends!
We enjoyed making these cookies for our friends and now we nominate YOU to #spreadcheer this holiday season by creating something special and giving it to someone you love! Pay-it-forward by baking something from the heart and giving it to someone that has done something special for you! I have had countless people do things for us and I’d love to keep the movement going by giving back to them! Giving back to those that mean a lot to you is easy with simple cookie recipes from Betty Crocker.
