If you are a mom, this photo is probably all too familiar for you. You can’t do anything without your littles under your feet, right? My thoughts are: if you can’t beat ’em, join ’em. More often times than not, if I don’t get ready during nap time, this is what it looks like trying to get some makeup on my face. I’ve been so excited to try out Ashley Sievert Beauty products and want to give you a review plus a little bit about why I love them today!
I’ve never been one to wear a lot of makeup. In fact, I’ve never worn any type of foundation until just recently. I usually just throw on some tinted moisturizer and call it good. Since turning 30, and having two kids, I started to notice some fine lines and a ton of freckles. I wanted something a little heavier to try out, but something that doesn’t look heavy. I found Ashley Sievert Beauty (and found out she is a Texas native, too!) and couldn’t wait to try it!
So after I talked with Ashley, we decided that I should start out with the sample pack to choose my color. She sent me all of the colors in little containers, plus the eye brightener cream. I quickly realized that I was in between two colors and started mixing them. Once we got my order placed, I was so excited to get my full size products and the brushes in!
I went with the whole set including the Mineral Velvet Creme in LA, the Mineral Finishing Velvet Powder in Paris, the Glow Under Eye Brightener and the brush set. I was mixing the LA and Paris with the Velvet Cream in my sample pack, so we felt like this was the best option. I’ve also read to test the colors on your neck to get the best color match. I’m pretty dark in the summer time, so we went with LA.
One of my favorite things about these products is that they are weightless but still give you coverage. You can wear them all day long and still have makeup on at the end of the day, but not feel like you’re wearing anything. It doesn’t rub off onto your clothes (or your babies and their clothes) and I can go through a day of momming, errands, pool, etc and still look the same!
I’ve started to include these products into my everyday (well, when I put on makeup…) regimen and I love it! I can get my makeup done in about 5-8 minutes with this which is crucial when you have babies on the floor with you, waiting on you, playing with your things and spilling lip stain on the carpet!
You can find all of the products that I’ve talked about here. What’s really cool is when you purchase the brushes, it tells you which brush you need to use for each product. Here’s how I used the products:
1. I start with the flat brush and one or two pumps of the Mineral Velvet Foundation. Instead of rubbing in a circular motion, you are going to pat from the center of your face to the outside. This makes the foundation go further for the little amount you are applying and gives you a more flawless, airbrushed coverage. Hello Photoshopped face without actual Photoshop…
2. I then do my blush, eyebrows, eyes, etc. To finish off, I use the Mineral Finishing Velvet Powder with the I use this with either the sponge that it comes with or the brush with the dome top.
3. To finish, I use the Glow Under Eye brightener. You can pat it on with your finger or use the ASB small flat brush. It acts as a concealer and highlight as well as an underage brightener. I recently started using my concealer last to give me more of a highlight and I’ve been loving it.
Now that I’ve been wearing it for a few weeks, I can honestly say it’s become my favorite beauty product line! I love the weightless feel and the look of not wearing a lot of makeup. My husband doesn’t love when I wear a lot of makeup, and he even likes this! Plus, my little minis certainly love the brushes…and I hear baby slobber is so good for your skin. 😉
I know when trying to find a new makeup line, it can become super frustrating. I know that as moms we really don’t have time to test and try so many different products to find the right one so we end up just using the same kind over and over. I can spend hours looking at reviews and asking beauty gurus what they wear, but until you try it for yourself, you never know what it’s going to do with your skin.
I will suggest that you wear a primer under these products to help it last throughout the day. I also suggest trying the tester pack (which is only $10) to get your perfect shade (and test on your neck to avoid having a makeup line). I also highly recommend these brushes because they feel amazing and they’re not only luxurious brushes, but they are Cruelty Free and made of Taklon synthetic fibers which are velvety soft and allergy free. {Currently throwing my cheap Amazon brushes in the trashhhhh}
