Happy half birthday (a few weeks late) little one! December has been a fun and busy month for us! We have been doing lots of Christmas festivities, celebrating mommy’s 30th birthday, getting a new car, visiting Santa and more! We are getting ready to take your first ski trip and I can’t wait to see what you think of the snow. I also can’t wait to see you unwrap your presents and if you like what’s inside as much as you like the paper.
You have grown so much this month. Like, turned into this amazing little thing with a big personality! You are so funny and just love to watch and figure things out. You’ve changed so much as you’re becoming mobile and enjoying being able to get places! I miss my tiny baby, but watching you is SO fun!
Here’s what’s happened from 5-6.5 months:
Age :: 6 months
Length :: (will update after 6 month check up)
Weight :: 17 lbs at 6 months 1 week
Milestones :: Sitting, rolling front to back and back to front, scooting like crazy, up on all 4s rocking and almost crawling, lunging forward to get what you want, definitely be crawling in the next few days., playing with toys, really watching and learning, putting hands and feet in mouth, loves the baby in the mirror, “talking” like crazy and gets super loud especially in high chair, saying “babababa” and “yayayaya”
Sleep :: 3 naps a day, none in her crib unless she falls asleep nursing and input her down, she hates naps in her crib right now. We’re going to work on this after Christmas! She’s sleeping great in her swing though 😉 but she’s getting too big for the swing. Down for the night around 8-8:30 and sleeps until 5-6 and back to sleep until 8:30-9. If she wakes up and 6, we have a hard time getting her back to sleep but mommy really doesn’t want to start the day at 6am!!
Favorites :: bath time, being outside, swinging, looking at the fan and lights, loves the abc wall in her room-she’s started to scratch the wall and laugh at it, nursing & mommy’s milk, smiling at anyone that talks to her, watching sissy, laughing, the silly toy monkey, the playmat, her blankies, chewing on things, tummy sleeping, trying to crawl, the squeaky vulli toy, chewing on anything and everything, teething cookies
Doesn’t like :: her carseat, sleeping on her back, cold teething toys, falling over when playing
Firsts :: Thanksgiving (11/26), tooth (12/1/15), taste of real food (11/26) – sweet potatoes.
Foods: she’s not really loving it just yet. I’ve tried purées and letting her eat from her high chair with cut veggies and she is still just playing. Not getting anything to her mouth. She loved her first teething cookie and made the biggest mess!
Clothes: 3-6 in Kickee, 6-9 month or 9 months in most clothes // Size 2 pampers and 3 huggies. In between sizes // fits in her size 1 FP moccs!
