There is something so beautiful about becoming a mother, but can we just talk about all of the changes and sacrifices our body makes to carry those babies? How do you learn to feel beautiful in your own skin again? How do you learn to love yourself and your body after all of these weird changes? Beauty is skin deep, but I truly believe we have to feel beautiful in order to radiate beauty. I always thought being a mom was beautiful and glamorous, and it is to an extent, but no one talks about how you can lose yourself and your love for your body through it. I’m speaking to you women today that feel like you just aren’t beautiful anymore, and believe me, that’s all of us. We all at some point or another have looked in the mirror and hated our bodies. We body shame ourselves. We want to change at least one or more of those body parts to look like someone else’s. I talked a little bit about loving your body in a recent post for my daughters, but today I’m going to talk about loving your body and skin for YOU.
When is the last time you did something for yourself? When is the last time you took a shower or a bath alone? I have been trying to practice good self-care for a little over a year now and it’s just made me a better and happier person. I love getting new body wash for those showers that I do get to spend alone, and make it my treat to use those! Ivory Aloe Body Wash helps my skin feel amazing without drying it out, which is super helpful here in West Texas! So the first step to loving yourself and your body; set time aside to shower or bathe ALONE. Sounds amazing, right?
I love Ivory because it’s a pure, clean choice for myself and my family. It smells amazing, too!
When is the last time you did exactly what you wanted to do for yourself? Did you feel guilty when you finally set time aside for yourself? Here’s the trick: the more time you spend with yourself, the more you will love yourself. Remember what you loved doing before you had kids and do it. Read a book. Take a walk without pushing the heavy double stroller in the 30 mph wind. Go to the movies alone. Rent a movie at home. Buy yourself a new comfy outfit. Do something for YOU. When is the last time you told yourself in the mirror how much you loved your body? You were created exactly the mirror image of how God wanted to create you. OWN IT. Love it. Find one thing about yourself, inside or out, that you love every day and write it on your mirror. Then when you look in the mirror, all you will see is the things you love and won’t have any room for the things you want to change.
However, the next best thing to spending time alone is spending time with your family. I know it’s good for my soul to turn off all of the distractions and just dive deep into being with my family. We love playing outside and coming in to a bubble bath! Sometimes we even put on our swimsuits and pretend to swim in the bathtub! My girls love Ivory Original Bar Soap because they feel like they’re getting to use “special soap”. ! The girls love that the bar soap even floats – who needs bath toys? We also keep Ivory Aloe Body Wash in all of our bathrooms so that we can use them each time we bathe!
Ivory’s products are 99.44% pure and clean, which is what I want to use for myself and my family. I also love that I can use the bar soap on my face instead of face soap in the shower! It’s the best!
Ivory proves to be the best product for our family (4 out of 5 moms even say the same), myself and even my makeup brushes! I love this product and love sharing it with my family!
