Easy DIY Chalkboard Serving Tray

You’re probably getting ready to plan snacks and drinks for the big game next weekend, and I am too! I want to go simple yet cute this year, so I plan to use this easy DIY chalkboard serving tray that we made at my last MOPS meeting!The steps are fairly easy, so I wanted to share how to make one of your own and how to serve the perfect snack tray of goodies to your guests!  Plus, who doesn’t love olives, cheese and more cheese!? And wine….So the first thing you’re going to do is get a chunk of wood. We used a 16″ by 11″ piece of wood, but any size would work! I chose to do chalkboard paint for the whole thing, but some of the other girls did stain and chalkboard or just stain! Whatever they wanted to do!

So then you just paint on the chalkboard paint with a foam brush! Those are easiest to just throw away and not have to wash out. Also, it doesn’t leave stroke marks like a bristle brush would! The chalkboard spray paint would be another option!

I painted 3 coats of the paint (don’t worry, it looks blue but dried black) and let it dry in the sun.  Then it was super easy to attach two handles on each side using a power drill.

That’s it! You’re done! 

For the cheese tray, I added Mozzarella, Brie, Pepperjack, White Cheddar, Lindsay Olives, Chile Lemon Peanuts, Crackers and Salami! And of course wine…always add wine!
