Ahhhh another great ski trip in the books! We went to Breckenridge, Colorado a couple of weeks ago and had the best time! Brett and I got two of our couple friends together sans kiddos and we all met in Breck for a weekend ski trip! It was seriously the best!
Brett and I try to ski at least once a year either just us or with the kiddos! This year we decided to leave the kiddos at home and have an adult ski trip but of course missed the babies every second! It was nice to have some time away, though!
We have been to Breckenridge a few times now, so knew what to expect and where we wanted to go! I know a few of you had reached out and said you are planning on going and want recommendations so I wanted to do a recap blog post of our trip and favorites!
Travel
We flew direct on United from Lubbock to Denver and drove to Breckenridge from there! The Denver airport is about an hour and a half depending on traffic from Breckenridge. It’s not a bad little trip but you’ll definitely need to rent a car! If you are driving, it takes about 8 hours from where we live! We drove last time and it was fun to take a road trip and see the mountains!
Lodging
We stayed at a Woodwinds Breckenridge property! They are seriously THE BEST! We have stayed at a few others and honestly won’t use anyone else but their properties from now on! We stayed at Hart on Main which was super quaint and had the best location as it was directly across the street from the gondola to the ski mountain. It was also very close to lots of restaurants and shopping! They have 16 properties at different capacities to fit basically any needs you have! We stayed in a 3 bedroom 2.5 bathroom and it was perfect for 3 couples! It would also fit one to two families if you took children! You can use code ASHLEEWWP for 15% off when you book (between Feb 20- May 31, 2020) a stay within the next 12 months at any Woodwinds Lodging property!
We got to visit with the owners of the property management company and I can say that they are THE nicest and best hosts ever! we truly love them and will go back as friends! We miss them already!! They’re so amazing.
Ski Info
We rented at Alpine Sports and they got us hooked up right away! If you are staying at a Woodwinds Property, you will get a 20% discount on your rentals! They have everything from skis to snowboards and all the gear you would need!
We got lift tickets online and it was a seamless process to pick up the card that we can reload at any time. Lift tickets can be pricey but they run deals all of the time and also you can get half day passes if you don’t want to ski from 9-4.
As far as the mountain goes, there is something for everyone! There are lots of greens, blues, blacks and even double black diamonds at the very top of the mountain. We skied all of the peaks but peak 8 and 9 were our favorites! Brett and the guys liked 10, but Shanna and I for-went that to shop! 😉 If you are super advanced, you would like that one!
Restaurants
I’m going to list out where we ate! We loved them all and there are others that we loved and didn’t get to go to! If you like crepes – go to Crepe a la cart and if you like cookies go to mountain top cookie shop! Clints Coffee and Cabin Coffee Co were our favorites for coffee!
Snacks/lunch/supper
The gold pan

Shops
There are so many cute boutiques! We loved going in each of the ones we came across! Lori, Shanna and I all went into Lululemon and got a few things! They will even hot stamp a Breckenridge logo on your new lulu as a keepsake! I loved it!! There is also a good Patagonia store and basically cute mountain town boutiques!
What else to do?
There is so much to do even if you don’t ski! Our friend Lori didn’t ski and she just met up with us for lunch on the mountain! It’s easy to take the gondola up to each restaurant on the mountain and easy to get back down! She spent time reading, shopping and just enjoying the beautiful weather! It was sunny and in the 40s while we were there and then it snowed the day we left! Breck has had a record amount of snow this year! The powder was great!!
If I missed something you want to know, definitely let me know! Or if you have a recommendation I left off, I can add it in for anyone to reference in the future!!
We are already planning the next trip! I really want to go back in the summer and take the kids! There are so many great things to do like hike, ice skate, bike, fly fish and honestly the town is just the cutest thing ever so if you’ve been wanting to get away definitely check out Breck! We are obsessed with the town! It’s the perfect ski town but has the cutest shops (even a Lululemon) and restaurants!
Now that our annual ski trip is in the books, we’re planning next years! Honestly I don’t think we can choose anywhere but Breck because we love it so much but definitely let me know where your favorite place to ski is! We’ll consider it! 😉
