First Day of School Outfits with Bloomingdale’s

How can it be that my first little girl is heading to preschool in a few short weeks? We are gearing up for a great year and new beginnings over here, and what better way to start than to pick out a first day of school outfit?  Bloomingdale’s has the cutest options for toddlers and kids, especially for back to school!

I just about cried when I thought about sending my little one to school (and I probably will on the first day), but she is SO excited that I just can’t help but be excited, too! Laikyn picked out her silver (she calls it her sparkly) backpack and wants to put her name on it so everyone will know it’s hers! 😉

When we were shopping together online at Bloomingdale’s, she immediately fell in love with the backpack, so I centered her first day of school outfit around the silver backpack! I love that she was able to pick it out and make it her own! She actually has a pretty great fashion sense for a 4-year-old! My second item to choose was something that she would be able to wear all year long, Converse sneakers.

Converse sneakers are so timeless, so I know she will be able wear them year round through fall into spring! I chose white because they go with everything and I can throw them in the washing machine when they get dirty from playground time!

I love her first day of school outfit because both the dress and the chambray shirt can be paired with other items in her closet and give her another outfit, too! The striped Ralph Lauren dress is so adorable on, and it even has pockets! She was thrilled that she could put her hands in there! Then the chambray is just a fun touch to tie up over a dress, wear around her waist like I do or even just wear it as a button down with some leggings! It’s a great versatile piece for her school year.

She couldn’t be more excited for her first day! We still have her lunch box and nap mat to purchase, and I think she already has her eye on a few! I know that her going to school two days a week will be a great transition, and she will learn so much! I am so proud of the little lady that she has become and know that she is going to do great things!

Walking into a new school year can be tough for the whole family, but having an outfit planned for the first day and some exciting things to look forward to will make the transition easier for everyone! Now, if mama could just wrap her head around how she grew up so quickly? I think I’m the one going to be more nervous and cry for the first day!
