Hi friends! I am headed to Houston today for a fun little collaboration that I can’t wait to share with yall! I’m going to sneak in and shop the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale while I’m there, so today I’m making my list and checking it twice! I want to share with you how I stay organized, stay on budget and keep my cool while shopping the sale!
To ensure that you don’t go over budget or make some irrational purchases, making a list before big sales like these is crucial! I am a list maker, and love to cross things off. So this year, that’s how I’m shopping the sale! I did a big closet inventory and clean out this past week so I know exactly what I need and don’t need, and now have some more room for my new purchases!

Nordstrom Sale 2017 Shopping Checklist
Denim – It’s always smart to grab some denim in this sale. Most designer jeans and jackets will be on sale, as well as many affordable options. THIS and THIS brand are my favorites for affordable brand to shop when it comes to denim, so you can just click that link to find all of the jeans on sale from the brand. THIS is my favorite designer brand and THIS is my favorite mid-price jean brand. It’s always a good rule of thumb to have 1 of each: dark denim, light denim, distressed denim (if appropriate for you), white denim and black denim. I also add black distressed denim, white distressed denim, and high-waisted to keep in my closet. With all of that…my denim bases are covered.
Shoes – It’s a given that every girl loves shoes. I try to add at least 3 pairs each Nordstrom Sale: booties, running shoes and boots. This year, I don’t really need any boots but there are lots of great options – I’m reaching for a good black over the knee boot. I am going to be doing a whole post on shoes from the sale, but these are the 4 that I’m FOR SURE purchasing at 2am.
Leggings – If you don’t purchase but just ONE thing; it MUST be these Faux Leather Leggings. I’ve worn mine for 2 seasons now and they’re THE BEST EVER. Pinky Promise. I will be grabbing a few pair of THIS brand leggings as well for workout.
Dresses – This is a great time to stock up on every kind of dress you might need! The Little Black Dress, the fun travel dress and the dress you can’t live without.
Designer Bag – I have my eye on this one. I can’t decide if I want gold or lavender. Thoughts? Definitely grabbing this foldover leopard clutch, though!
Perfume – This is a great sale to grab the perfume you’ve been wanting! My current favorite is Victor & Rolf Flowerbomb. It’s a great non-seasonal that you can wear through all seasons!
Hair Tools – T3 will be on sale, so be sure and grab that wand or blowdryer you’ve been wanting! Lots of other great hair products will be on sale as well, THIS and THIS brand are my favorites.
So that’s what I’m looking for in the sale! These are staples, of course I will be adding things like fun tops, athleisure, etc. but these items will be what I am shopping FIRST! Since I love you and I am a planner…I’m going to be providing you with exactly what I buy from this checklist and you’ll be able to check back to see how to style it (in case you want to get the same items as I do and then you’ll instantly have outfits to put together)!
I’ve gotten a few requests for work wear and back to school outfits, so I will be doing posts on those as well. If you aren’t card holders, it’s okay…you will just have to hope and pray that the items you want will be in stock in your size when you are able to shop!
