My girls have always loved taking baths, but I know there are some kiddos out there who just don’t love them! I know as they get older, it might become more of a task to get clean so I wanted to share some of the ways that we make bath time fun around here!
Today is rainy and not such a fun outside play day, so it was perfect to have some fun in the tub! I love that it gives me a short break from having the little people making me a human jungle gym and it gives them a little refresh for the rest of the day. We usually take baths right before bed time, but days like today just call for a midday bath + play time!
What are some of the ways you make bath time fun for toddlers? I feel like we’ve purchased everything on the market for baths, but really you don’t need a thing at all! Here are some ways that help make the task of bathing a little more fun!
- Paint Brushes – You don’t even need bath paint, finger paint or any paint! Just give them some paint brushes and let them “paint” the bathtub/shower walls with water. I have my 3.5 year old drawing pictures, shapes and spelling her name while trying to write it! My littlest just copies big sister! 😉
- Sponges – Sponges like Spongefuls are great because they are adorable shapes and also they get the kids CLEAN! Each sponge is filled with moisturizing body wash & shampoo and are tear-free, mild & gentle, hypoallergenic, bacteria resistant, paraben-free, and latex- free. The kids don’t even know they are cleaning while playing, so it’s like a win-win! You can purchase Spongefuls in packs of 3, individual travel packs and Spongefuls for adults.
- Color Tabs – Changing bath water to a color is so much fun! We do this pretty often!
- Bath Bombs – I love taking baths with bath bombs, and I recently was told about these from a friend that have toys/things inside of them for kids!
- Finger Paints/Markers – I love that you can incorporate learning into bath time! We use these pretty often.
- Cups/Bowls – It’s simple and you have tons of extras laying around if you’re like us! I throw them in and the girls dump water from one cup to the other. I’m lucky if the water doesn’t make it to the bathroom floor, though.
- Bubble Bath – Who doesn’t love a good bubble bath complete with making bubble bath beards?
- Foam Soap – This soap is so fun! It’s smells like my childhood…ha!
- Bath Toys – The girls love to just play with toys in the water. There are so many great ones out there!
- Ice Cubes – This is simple and easy! Just fill up an ice tray with colored water (using food coloring or I’ve even done essential oils for me) and throw a few in! It’s fun to watch them dissolve and either turn the bath colors or make it smell great!
What are some ways you make bath time fun for your kids? If you have an idea, send it my way! I’m always looking for more ways to make life fun around here!
