“Sleep when the baby sleeps” they say…it’s the advice you get when your a new mom, but if only it were as easily done as it is said! Do they want us to cook when the baby cooks and do laundry when the baby does, too? Right…it’s about impossible to get perfect sleep as a mom, much less within the first year. It’s just about as impossible as keeping your house spotless with a toddler and baby. It’s almost like brushing your teeth while eating Oreos…it’s pointless! FINALLY, I am going to share with you a sleep answer for moms everywhere….you’re going to be so excited about this! It’s almost better than afternoon iced coffee! Dear Tired and Over-Exhausted Mom; meet Owlet Baby Monitor.
I distinctly remember my mom telling me that you are basically a walking Mom Zombie, ie. Mombie, the first year of having a baby. And she was right (do you want me to say it again, Mom!? You were rightttttt)! Even if you are blessed with great babies who sleep, a mom’s job is just never finished.
Moms worry. Moms are up after everyone else is trying to finish that lengthy to-do list that didn’t get checked off during the daytime hours. Moms are superheroes. So, dear little mama, I’m going to tell you about something that has helped me sleep, rest easy, feel much more assured that your baby is in fact sleeping so you can sleep! Hello, Owlet Baby Monitor. Thank you from moms across the world….
You see, when you bring the baby home from the hospital in the middle of your sleep deprivation, you worry. You wake every hour wondering if the baby is sleeping, breathing, breathing too quickly, too hot, too cold, swaddled too tightly, etc. You just worry. I did this with both girls! I felt like the crazy mom who worried and would wake up in a panic wondering if I just didn’t hear them! I constantly was putting my ear next to them listening to breathing, or watching their bellies fall up and down rhythmically to make sure they’re breathing well. It’s hard to be a mom and not have control over every thing your child does! You can make sure they are safe where they sleep; fed, burped and love, the ABCs (Alone on their Back in their Crib but then once you lay them down, you’ve got to just pray. Now, you can pray and also be reassured with the Owlet Monitor. I really wish I would have had this from Day 1 with both girls, because it would have saved me from worrying so much!
The Owlet Baby Monitor is a monitor worn on the baby in the form of a fitted sock that monitors your baby’s pulse oximetry just like they did in the hospital. The Smart Sock is safe and proven to accurately track breathing patterns and so much more. The Owlet is designed to alert you if your baby stops breathing, but you can track everything from heart rate to oxygen levels while they sleep from your iPhone. You can download the app for your device HERE. The wireless Smart Sock fits snug on your baby’s foot. It comes with 3 different sizes so you can continue to use it as your baby grows. The sock is recommended for use up to 18 months. Sound good? Feel like you can get some sleep now?

I would have gotten so much more sleep had we had this in the beginning with the girls! The technology is top notch, and you can rest assured that your baby is sleeping without waking up every hour to check on them! Lennyn has been wearing it since we got it a few weeks ago, and I just feel less anxiety when I know she is being monitored. She is cutting molars right now and has had fever, so having the Smart Sock on her has given me peace of mind when she sleeps! I can just open my app from my phone in my room and see that her oxygen levels are good and that her heart rate is steady. I sleep soundly, and am thankful for Owlet to be awake with her so I can sleep!
Are you sold? It’s honestly a game changer, especially for newborns but we are still getting so much use out of it even at almost a year old! I am so less worried! CLICK THIS LINK for your own Owlet Baby Monitor. Trust me, it’s the best decision you’ll make for yourself and your baby!
