OH my goodness…Laikyn has turned into a little girl! I’m crying and happy at the same time. Each stage is so fun, and she gives us so much joy! I just love seeing her learn new things! Her giggle and laugh is so contagious and she sure knows how to light up a room. I don’t know how many times a day I get stopped for people to look at her and everyone just loves her! She is such a flirt and talks and smiles right back to them. She’s going to be a social butterfly, I do believe. She is becoming so independent and has such a sweet and fun-loving personality. She loves her momma time and is so excited when daddy gets home from work. She loves to lay with him and cuddle. It’s so hard thinking about 5 months from now when she will be a year old, but then I tell myself that stage will be fun too! I am so so so blessed to be able to be home with her and see each thing she learns. I feel like she has changed so much just in a month.

Milestones :: She is crawling ALL OVER THE PLACE! She only likes to crawl on carpet, and she bear crawls/crab walks on our wood floors. So high maintenance already! She follows me to wherever I am throughout the day, unless she finds something that catches her attention. She’s been pulling to stand for about 3 weeks now. She is getting brave and letting go sometimes. She likes to keep one hand on the thing she pulled up on and reach for another. She also tries to pull up on EVERYTHING….my leg, my pajama pants, Tucker, the couch, toys, the diaper bag…seriously. She is standing all of the time. She’s also babbling more. She has been saying “dada” which was her first word…I think “baba” will be next and then “mama” probably. She doesn’t say “mmm”s very much….I am happy that her daddy got the first words. That’s so special! She cut another tooth this month, so now she has 3 and I can tell that at least 2, maybe 3 are about to come through. She’s a teething monster! She’s drinking from any straw or a sippy cup now.
Sleep :: Oh my goodness it’s so much better. I had a friend suggest Sleep Easy Solution and it has worked wonders. We love it! She’s sleeping 12 hours now, with one dream feed. We’re working on weaning that dream feed though. Teething has messed her up a little, but for most nights its so much better! We also traveled to see my grandma Jeannie in Scottsdale this past week and it messed up sleeping a little but she’s recovered pretty well.
Favorites :: bath time, eating, her high chair, grabbing whatever mommy has (we call her sticky-hands), playing peek-a-boo and pat-a-cake, crawling/pulling up on toys, our phones, the iPad, magazines or sacks that make noise make her laugh hysterically! She talks to her lamp in her room every night. She LOVES it so much. She actually loves any lamp…haha. She also LOVES my Camelback water bottle and jelly beans in a jar. She will crawl anywhere to get them!
Doesn’t like :: still not loving the carseat and when we wipe her face after eating.
Foods :: She has tried avocado, banana, carrots, prunes, apples, pears, oatmeal, chicken, turkey, green beans, peas, peaches, sweet potatoes, squash. She loves it all except for green beans, I have to mix those with pears or apples! Her favorites are pears and squash. I am making most of her baby food. It’s so easy and cheaper! And so much healthier than those with preservatives but we still give those sometimes too! She likes both! We are doing purees and Baby Led Weaning, so it’s fun to do both. She has to have her hands in something while eating or we go through several spoons…she takes them away and tries to feed herself! She’s drinking from a sippy cup (water or apple/prune juice mixed with water) to help her go potty! She really likes drinking from a straw better than a sippy, so we usually use those and she loves them!
Clothes :: Carter’s 9 month. Some 3-6 month and 6-9/6-12 month in other brands. Still size 2 diapers.
