A few weeks ago, my mom and I took a quick little getaway to Amelia Island, Florida. Everyone on the island called it Florida’s Hidden Gem, and I can sure see why! It’s definitely one of the nicest, cleanest and friendliest places that I’ve been in a long time!
We flew in early Friday morning for the quick little getaway! I went for work, and met up with several other influencers while mom came along for some relaxation! It was the perfect place to relax; she didn’t have a hard time doing that! The Ritz Carlton Amelia Island is beyond accommodating, SO nice and perfect for your stay on Amelia Island. Not to mention, the beds are literally the softest and most comfortable that I’ve ever stayed in. I think I might hotel hop all of the Ritz Carltons to see if this rings true for them all! 😉
Upon arrival on Friday, we got all checked in and headed straight for spa appointments! Talk about a welcome! That was the best decision we made all weekend. Mom got the Moroccan Oil Scalp Treatment accompanied with her 50-minute massage, and I got a 50-minute massage as well. Definitely one of the best massages I’ve had in a while. The Ritz Carlton Spa is incredibly nice and just what we needed to start our weekend off right!
After massages, I quickly got ready for a property tour followed by dinner and drinks at SALT which is a restaurant that came highly recommended from the locals. We had a 5-course meal and I was just about so stuffed and sleepy that I couldn’t even keep my eyes open after dessert! The seared steak on the salt block was my favorite since we got to cook it to our liking ourselves. Salt brings incorporates coastal favorites as well as many different salts from around the world for each of its courses. Did you know that salt does not carry any bacteria? We passed around several types of salt, pinched a bit off for our buttered bread and tasted it all! My favorite was the olive salt!

I turned in after dinner to the most comfortable bed and got a few hours of sleep before it was time for the next activity: The Royal Wedding Watch Party! All of the ladies at the hotel got dressed up in their best dresses and hats to attend the Royal Wedding watch party! I slept through a bit of this since it was EARLY and I was still trying to adjust to the time change, but the perfectly curated snacks and Royal Wedding Cake (it was the same flavor as they had at the wedding) was done to perfection!
After the wedding, we headed out for breakfast at March’e Burette which is settled on the Omni Plantation. I got the yummiest breakfast sandwich and made-to-order coffee! It’s a farm to table restaurant with so many fresh ingredients and a cute little store, so definitely stop by to check it out if you are in the area!
Breakfast ended with a quick little walk around the patio outdoors where they play live music and have seating for outdoor guests. We walked over to start the tour of the Omni Plantation on a SEGWAY!! I was SO nervous about this, yall! I even tried to get out of it because I’m pregnant….but it turned out to be my very favorite part of the entire weekend trip! You can rent Segways or bikes to tour the property of Omni. It’s SO gorgeous. I loved it there. I definitely want to return and stay at Omni Amelia Island to see how it compares to the Ritz. We had some time to kill after the tour, so we laid by the pool and had some drinks there. It is such an amazing property, I can’t wait to go back!

Lunch was served at BarZin Bistro where I got the most delicious French Dip sandwich and frites. Oh my goodness, it was SO good! I was sure wishing I could have one of the local brewery’s beers with this, it was haunting me on the menu! This was such and cute and quaint little restaurant, I would definitely plan for a meal there!
We had some free time on Saturday afternoon, so Mom and I hit the pool and beach for some relaxation! The Ritz Carlton pools are SO great, and can be either kid-friendly or adult-only. The service was beyond amazing and our snacks and drinks were great!! We definitely felt recharged after being there for a few hours.

Saturday night was one of my favorites, as well! We took a sunset sail with Windward Sailing through the balmy breezes and views of Cumberland Island. We didn’t get to see the wild horses, but the views and sunsets didn’t disappoint!

We ended the night with a delicious dinner at España where the tapas and paella pans from Spain were AMAZING! Seriously, SO good! The downtown area of Amelia Island is soooo cute! Little boutiques, coffee shops and restaurants are everywhere and all locally owned. I love the feel of the small town friendliness! After dinner (and dessert, DUH), I turned in for a good night’s sleep before my flight the next morning, but the other girls planned a sunrise yoga session on the beach! The sunrises and sunsets in Amelia Island are breathtaking!
I was so glad to get home to my husband and babies, but Amelia Island with my mom was the perfect getaway! I LOVED every second of it and am so thankful for the little weekend getaway we had! I think it would be the perfect place for a babymoon, a relaxing getaway for a birthday or anniversary trip or just any special occasion! I think the girls would have even loved it! I’ll definitely be back…until next time, Amelia Island!
