We took another little weekend trip with friends this past weekend to celebrate D’Kota’s birthday! One of our favorite places to go is Ruidoso because you just can’t beat the mountains and it’s a quick drive for us. I threw in some birthday celebration wine from Wente Vineyards because it has quickly become one of my favorites!
My husband and I have been on the hunt for the perfect red wine, and Wente Vineyards is just about everything we love. I can always count on my good friend, Jordan, to wine-down with me, too! The Southern Hills Cabernet Sauvignon was recommended when I went into our local United Supermarkets so I went with it. The fruity and fresh flavor of plum and berry is refreshing, especially for a red wine more on the dry side.
I also picked up the Riva Ranch Chardonnay to to pair with dinner this week. I can never decide whether red or white wine is my favorite, it just depends on my mood and whichever sounds good with what we are having for dinner. The Wente Vineyard is located in Livermore, California, but I’m so thankful that I can have a taste all the way in Texas!
