Thank you to American Tourister for sponsoring today’s post. Thank YOU for helping me support the brands that I love!
What is worse than packing? Packing for 4 people to go two different places for 2 whole weeks, that’s what. I was exhausted before vacation because I spent all of my time planning and making sure everything is checked off our list! It was 100% worth it, because we enjoyed our first cruise! I wanted to share what I packed and how I organized it!
Not only did we embark on a 7 day cruise, we left a day early to ensure we would be to the ship in time and then when we returned we flew directly to our family vacation where we stayed for a week! So in all, we packed for 14 days for all 4 people in our family!
I was stressed about the thought of packing all of us, but my American Tourister luggage arrived just in time for me to add contents and it made it so much better! I am just going to share what I packed and some pointers on how to get it to fit into two bags.
In the Big Luggage (28″)
- Clothes + Shoes – I packed swimsuits, dresses, loungewear, some activewear and of course shoes. I tried to stay neutral with my shoes to make sure it all matched okay! I took 2 pairs of heels/wedges and 3 pairs of sandals.
- Pro Tip: Pack your shoes and clothes in both sides of the luggage. If you separate shoes in one side and clothes in the other, the bag will be heavier on one side and not pull well.
- Hats + Accessories – I tried to keep this minimal but I did take 3 hats, 3 bags (one handbag, one clutch and one beach/pool bag) and some accessories in a jewelry organizer.
- Pro Tip: Always carry on designer jewelry or handbags as well as shoes. Anything you couldn’t part with, you need to carry on the plane with you.
In the Small Luggage (20″)
- Curling Iron/Wand – I chose to take only my wand trio to save space. I didn’t pack a blowdryer, as I just used the one provided in the room. My straightener would have just been extra space taken, so I didn’t pack it (and really didn’t miss it #beachhairdontcare).
- Pro Tip: You cannot take an iron or steamer on the cruise with you. Take some wrinkle release or hang to get wrinkles out of your clothes.
- Toiletries – I packed all of my toiletries in an organizer that hangs on a hook. This saves with space in the tiny cruise bathroom.
- Pro Tip: Pack travel sized toiletries, but don’t worry if you forget because the cruise provides good shampoo, conditioner and body wash. Definitely take your face cleanser and cream if you have a brand preference like I do.
- Sunscreen – This is a MUST. Do not forget sunscreen with a good spf. We took 3 spray bottles and used all of them during the 7 days. There is a place to buy sunscreen on the ship, but it’s overpriced and we couldn’t find the spray!
In My Carry-On Bag
- Computer
- Chargers
- Camera
- Any prescriptions
- A change of clothes/swimsuit
- Snacks (for the plane, you don’t need ANY food once on the cruise)
- Sunglasses
- Anything you can’t live without!
- Pro Tip: Travel with a crossbody purse and a carry on bag so you don’t have too many bags to deal with while traveling through the airport and on the plane.
I loved traveling with the American Tourister luggage for this trip! I got the color “hot lips pink” in the wave breaker collection because it was fun, bright and lightweight! I love the hard scratch-resistant shell and the amount of items it can fit! I somehow managed to keep it all underweight, too! The best part about this luggage is that I can easily roll it through the airport alone, even with two bags. The multi-directional roller wheels make it easy to maneuver and control. I just added my carry on to the top of one of the bags while getting through the airport.
I’m loving the options that American Tourister has for our whole family. Brett got this one for traveling and I love that it’s masculine and sleek. The Disney Collection is a great option for kids, too!
I know I probably left something out, so I may have to come and update as I think of it! I hope this helps if you plan to go on a cruise! If you have any packing suggestions, I’d love to hear them!

I am so impressed with how you fit it all! Packing for that long (and for a family after too!) is no joke!
