We’re trading in the swimsuits for new shoes and getting ready for back to school! This year is super special because Laikyn, my oldest, will be heading to 4-year-old pre-k for the first time! She is beyond excited, but I might shed a tear or two!

I just cannot believe that she is big enough to be going to school! 4 years came and went way too quickly! She is so excited and will thrive in the school setting! She is already asking how many more sleeps until school starts! I know I will enjoy some one-on-one time with her sister, too!
We’ve been doing some back to school shopping over the past few weeks, and OshKosh is one of our go-to stores for back to school shopping! I let the girls choose their own outfits from the store, and I think giving them some authority over choice is so rewarding. They love to get dressed every day (sometimes multiple times a day) because they get to “choose” what they are wearing. I normally lay out 2 outfits and they can choose from the two. Choice is a great way to incorporate their opinion into their daily routine.
Now doing their hair is a different story. Neither of them love for me to do their hair…so I’m praying this gets better before school starts! I’m also praying I don’t pull out mine from having to get up early, get them and myself dressed and out the door before 8am every morning. Team No Schedule over here might be changing our ways pretty quickly!
This denim jacket is one of my favorite purchases for Lennyn from OshKosh. It is SO soft and lightweight enough that she doesn’t pull at it. It’s the softest denim jacket I’ve found for kits! The buttons snap so she’s even able to button on her own, which is a WIN because every other phrase these days is, “I do it mySELF!” #twonager
But it’s fine, because…that smile.
