Most people hear Lubbock, Texas and think what in the world is there to do there?! It’s not as small or remote as you’d think (it’s actually BIG to me, being in a small town nearby) so I wanted to share some of the most fun things to do if you live in or if you’re visiting the West Texas area!
Most of these things you can do with your family, so round them up and head down to Lubbock aka LBK! I try to take my kids to do something fun in Lubbock once a month, so here are our favorites (and some for momma, too)!
For the Family
STARS & STRIPES DRIVE-IN MOVIE THEATRE – Seriously some of my favorite memories are watching movies out of the back of the car late at night in the drive-in. Though I didn’t grow up in Lubbock, I think this is one of the most fun things that Lubbock has to offer for the whole family!
SCIENCE SPECTRUM & OMNI THEATRE – This one is great for the whole family, too! My kids love going to learn through playing at the museum. This is definitely a must-have if you have time to go while in Lubbock.
ALTITUDE TRAMPOLINE PARK – This place is fun for the family! My toddlers enjoy toddler play time in the mornings, and it can get busy on the weekends so be prepared for that! Also, be prepared to buy the “altitude socks” or bring them with you every time if you’ve already purchased.
LAKE ALAN HENRY – Only a short jaunt from Lubbock, Lake Alan Henry is one of the best lakes in the area if you want to go fishing or tubing! We are there so often and love it! You can camp out or stay in Lubbock, but be prepared to drive an hour or so to get there!
For Date Night
WINERY TOURS – Lubbock is the home for several great wineries in Texas. There are wine tours and private parties upon request. You can go HERE for more information.
EVIE MAE’S – This is probably one of the most popular places to dine in Lubbock! Grab your significant other and head out for a day date for lunch. They’re only open for lunch and you need to GO EARLY if you want to eat! 😉 They sell out quickly! They also have amazing desserts, some of which are gluten-free!
For Girls’ Day
My Top // My Jeans // My Necklace
CAFE J HAPPY HOUR – I’m a sucker for a good girls’ happy hour. The patio at Cafe J is where you need to go! The appetizers are amazing (you MUST have the Buffalo Mac & Cheese) and the Rose is perfect for patio sitting. Grab the girls and head to the patio; live music is played on the weekends, too! The brunch is also out-of-this-world. Promise!
SHOPPING AT WEST END – This is my favorite area to shop! Some of my other favorite Lubbock boutiques include (not limited to): Love BC, Piper, J. Roberts, My Cup of Tea Baby, Green Dazzle Baby, LOFT (in Kingsgate) and I’m sure there are so many more but these are my go-tos!
FLORAL CROWN PARTIES – I think this is by far the most fun thing I’ve done in Lubbock! We went for a West Texas blogger event and had the most fun making our flower crowns with Michelle, the owner. She is one talented lady! She also does great bouquets for weddings, floral crowns for photos, etc. Just contact her if you’d like to set one up!
For Some Alone Time
WOODHOUSE DAY SPA – Head to the spa for some pampering! The full service day spa is a great way to relax alone or with friends! They often run specials, so follow them on Facebook!
IV HYDRATION TREATMENTS – I recently did this with IV Rejuvenation Station of Lubbock and felt so refreshed and energized! Read more HERE.
So that’s what we love to do in Lubbock! I have a whole list of favorite places to shop, have coffee, eat and stay…so stay tuned for that! Also please comment with anything else that is fun to do in the area so I can add to this for reference! Thanks for stopping by and don’t hesitate to reach out if you’re coming this way!
