A couple of weeks ago, I attended the 6th Annual RewardStyle Conference that you may have seen me post about with the tag #RStheCon. What is it that you really need to know? I’m sharing it all today!
I wanted to share a little bit more about it and why I choose to go. I know most of you are not bloggers and want to understand what it is that bloggers really do and some of you are bloggers just starting out or looking to be invited to this conference! So today I’m spilling my secrets (what I do know, ha) and sharing my outfits from the 4-day weekend in Dallas!

What is RewardStyle?
RewardStyle is a monetization platform for influencers and bloggers to share their outfits/items through links which connects the influencer and consumer to the brand. When you click one of my affiliate links and purchase something, I make a small commission from the item purchased. RewardStyle makes that all possible! When shopping on Instagram, you can screenshot an image and Liketoknow.it has created a technology to make images shoppable through their links as well. What does it take to be a part of RewardStyle?
I have been a part of RewardStyle since 2012 when I started blogging. When I went full time and started consistently sharing is when I started seeing the benefits of monetizing my website and social channels. RewardStyle has made it all possible and I’m so thankful that I’m able to do what I love, share it with all fo you and stay home with my children while having a job! Who is invited to the conference? How do you get invited?
There are roughly 200 influencers invited to conference. You are invited based on performance, so that means the more people that you reach and that shop through your links, the more likely you are to be invited. There are some of the top influencers that don’t attend every year, which opens the field up for opportunity of influencers that don’t have as high of performance. It’s always an honor to be invited! Be proud if you are, and if you WANT to be invited; my advice is to be consistent and tap into your audience to see what they are purchasing – then share more of what they love while staying true to yourself and your brand.
Is the conference free or when you’re invited do you pay to go?
The conference is not free. You pay for your travel and hotel just like any other work conference.
Do you choose your sessions or does everyone do the same thing?
When you’re invited, you have a registration key that allows you into a website to apply for the sessions that you want to see. When you arrive at conference, you are given your schedule with the sessions and times you will be attending them!
What was your favorite part?
My favorite part of conference is networking with brands and getting to connect with other influencers/moms that are doing the same thing as me! As we’re all behind our phones and computers connecting with each other and all of you, it’s nice to be able to have that face time and talk about what sometimes other people don’t understand in this space!
What was your favorite brand to meet with at conference?
I LOVED meeting with Colleen Rothschild and her husband. They are PRECIOUS and I hope to be sharing more of their brand with you soon!

What did you learn at the conference? What was your biggest takeaway?
I learn so many new things each year that I feel like it can be overwhelming! My biggest takeaway this year is: you can all try to do the same thing, but in the end you’ve got to find what works for you and your audience. Stay true to yourself and keep doing what works for you! Tweak and re-evaluate but always rely on your gut, analytics and your people (which is YOU)!
What does the process look like from being invited, to registering to getting there?
When you’re invited you will get an email saying you’ve been selected based on your performance! YAY! Once you’ve been invited, you register, find your roommate (if you want one), plan your travel (I flew, some drove) and obviously get childcare because that’s a long time away from your family! 😉 Once you’re there the shoots, events, networking, brand halls, meetings, classroom sessions, and more events keep you VERY busy!

Who were you most excited to see or meet?
I was SO excited to see my favorite girls again. I have met so many great friends through blogging and this is the one time of year that we all get to see each other. I roomed with Liz (Pure Joy Home) again and she’s my blogging best friend. We had a great time, as always. I got to meet some new faces and that’s always nice and refreshing! I also got to meet and talk with Jillian Harris (from the bachelorette) which I was major fan-girling over. Courtney Kerr’s session was one of my favorites to listen to!

Will you go again? When do bloggers get “big enough” to stop going to conferences?
I will always go as long as my family/circumstances allow and I’m invited! I don’t think that ANYONE is “too big” of a blogger to learn and to network with brands and other influencers. It’s my personal preference to never let “how big you are” get in the way of ANYTHING, because to be honest, we’re all just the same; doing our daily thing and our success is not measured by a number! There will ALWAYS be room for growth as a person, influencer, teacher, friend, mother, etc. I feel this way and I hope that I’ll always make time to network and make friends with those who made it all possible in the beginning! Plus, it’s SO MUCH FUN!
